Healthcare and Financial Powers of Attorney

Don’t leave your future to chance. Powers of Attorney (POAs) for healthcare empower you to make your health preferences clear, ensuring they're upheld even when you're unable to voice them. Powers of Attorney for financial matters keeps your financial course steady and in trusted hands in the event you became unable to care for yourself.

How Do I Get My POAs Done?

  1. Request an Appointment.
Select the “Request an Appointment” button and fill out the requested information.
  2. Pick a Day & Time.
You will receive an email with a link to my Calendly page, which is a secure  online calendar system. You pick from any available date and time to schedule our one hour call.
  3. Purchase Your Service.
Once you schedule a time to talk, you will receive an emailed invoice for $240 which includes the one hour attorney consultation, a Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, a Durable Power of Attorney for Medical Care, and a HIPAA Medical Records Authorization. If you are a student in college or headed to college, we will also discuss the FERPA form, which allows educators to disclose information to a designated individual.
  4. Have the Call.
You will get on a zoom with Laura Lumaghi for one hour and discuss what Powers of Attorney are, why you need two different ones, discuss the HIPAA and FERPA forms if applicable, and answer any questions you may have about Powers of Attorney and the alternatives if a person does not have these documents and they become incapacitated.
  5. Sign the Documents.
After the call, you will receive the finalized Powers of Attorney, HIPAA medical records release and FERPA form, if applicable, to your email to print and sign. Some of the documents requires two witnesses and a notary so we may have to meet to get these signed if you do not have access to a notary.
